Meet our VC Fellow, Avinash Jayaraman, MD! ?? Dr. Avinash Jayaraman, MD, is an MBA candidate at The Wharton School, majoring in Health Care Management. He is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at MedMountain Ventures. Prior to pursuing his MBA, Dr. Jayaraman served as the Chief Growth Officer at Sonara Health, leading the company’s early sales and fundraising efforts - successfully securing investments from VCs, health plans, and Mark Cuban. He was also a co-founder of Sonara, co-inventing the company’s life-saving technology while in his final year of medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a medical student, Dr. Jayaraman published extensively in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, led a large-scale clinical outcomes database, and presented his research at multiple national and international conferences. He holds a BA in Mathematics from Northwestern University. With a passion for healthcare innovation, Dr. Jayaraman aims to leverage his experience to support the next generation of daring companies that improve the health of society’s most vulnerable patients. Meet our VC Fellow Angela Malinovitch! ?? Angela is an?MD/MBA student at The Wharton School and University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Prior to her dual degree, Angela worked as an Associate at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Philadelphia. Throughout her academic and professional career, Angela has been involved in a variety of healthcare initiatives. She is currently President of the Health?Care Club at Wharton and President of PennHealthX at Perelman. While in medical school, Angela led the PennHealthX?SDOH Accelerator Program, matching medical student-consultants with early-stage healthcare startups focused on health equity initiatives. She also worked on multiple health system?projects as an Intern at the Center for Health Care Transformation and Innovation @ Penn Medicine and as a Medical Student Business Fellow at Geisinger. Angela holds a BA in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania, with minors in French, Health Care Management, and Chemistry.
