Congratulations to Distinguished Professor of Aerospace Engineering Ping Lu, who delivered the 34th annual Albert W. Johnson University Research Lecture Wednesday at Tula Community Center. Lu spoke about SDSU's important role to develop algorithms for the entry, descent and landing stages of sending humans to Mars. In addition, mechanical engineering Professor George Youssef was honored as Innovator of the Year, one of seven Outstanding Scholar Awards.

Congratulations to SDSU's very own College of Engineering Student Council on being named Outstanding College Council! The National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC) recognized the organization in the large council category at its annual West Conference. The council also prides itself for inclusivity and engagement in a traditionally male-dominated field. This year its executive council is evenly split between men and women.

SDSU will return to the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering this year! Come join us for a day full of interactive activities, STEM-inspired art, cybersecurity demos & more. SDSU SHPE (Society of Hispanic Engineers) and MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) (formerly MEP) members recently cheered on the SDSU Aztec Football team at Snapdragon Stadium.
