For over a decade, we've proudly teamed up with the San Diego Bird Alliance each spring to restore essential habitats for the endangered California Least Tern- a small seabird with a distinctive black cap and white body. ??? ? This includes ensuring people are aware of programs that can help ease energy costs. If David answers the next time you call, don’t worry - he’s got you. David’s workdays are anything but predictable. As an Energy Service Specialist, he’s the first person that customers talk to when facing various challenges. But it’s not his technical abilities that make him stand out - it’s his passion for helping people. David’s empathy is his superpower. Even when someone calls in upset, by the end of the call, they are thanking him. David says that one of the most rewarding aspects of his job is enrolling customers in SDG&E’s Arrears Management Payment Plan, offering debt forgiveness to qualifying households. Leading comes with significant responsibility, and by partnering with others, we collectively become stronger in an effort to safeguard our customers' safety and well-being. When it comes to wildfire prevention and communications, continuous improvement is what we’re all working towards to ensure a resilient future for the communities we serve. This week, we were honored to host the second annual Western Utilities Wildfire Communications Workshop at our Wildfire and Climate Resilience Center on SDG&E’s campus. We had the privilege to hear from and exchange strategies, best practices and invaluable insights with our esteemed utility peers from across the Western U.S. The power of collaboration and mutual learning was instrumental in tackling the challenges we all face together. We also welcomed and had the privilege to hear Michael Wara’s strategic perspectives and Watch Duty and ALERTWest who engaged with us on key communications strategies to further the important messaging we all share. A heartfelt thank you to all our utility peers for being here and for sharing your ideas and thoughts. Our energy future depends on our ability to unite. Collaboration is our greatest asset, whether it’s sharing wildfire mitigation strategies or advocating for necessary new policies. We are excited to announce the launch of our 2028-2031 Firm Zero-Emitting Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) Reliability RFO. This initiative aims to procure resources to meet electric system reliability needs as mandated by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). ???Key Highlights: - Seeking 41.4 MW of system-level Resource Adequacy from firm, zero-emitting resources that meet the following criteria: - Will achieve commercial operation?between June 1, 2028, and June 1, 2031. - Has no on-site emissions or is eligible under the requirements of the Renewables Portfolio Standard program. - Has at least an 80 percent capacity factor. - SDG&E will be hosting a Pre-Offer Webinar to answer questions on March 14, 2025 at 10:00 am PT. - Participants are encouraged to attend the webinar here:?https://lnkd.in/gBnRUaJ3 Join us in our commitment to a sustainable and reliable energy future!
