I may be an Assistant Professor with a nice office and all the bells and whistles that come with such a position. But I will always be guided by my values I learned from farming the most important is to put faith in everything I do. Farming is important to me and always will be.

Al Gore rightfully losing his ?? His recent speech touches on a critical issue that demands our attention. With the current state of the world, are we really serious about solving the climate crisis, or are we just putting on a show? Here’s the hard truth: ??? Fossil fuel companies are still using their political power to block progress ?????? Critical conversations about phasing out oil and gas aren’t even allowed on the table at COPs. ?? Many climate commitments we do have are failing to deliver the results we urgently need. The time for half-measures has long passed. We need real strategies that protect our planet and invest in sustainable innovation. Supporting climate tech solutions, reducing waste, and transitioning to cleaner energy sources are steps we can’t afford to delay. Background: The recent removal of dams on the #Klamath River—including the Copco and Iron Gate dams—aims to restore natural water flow and improve ecosystem health. These dams were removed to support the recovery of native fish populations, especially Chinook and Coho salmon, which rely on free-flowing rivers for spawning. Significance: The removal is significant for #biodiversity, allowing for the resurgence of aquatic species and better water quality. This also benefits the region’s commercial fisheries, local tribes, and communities that depend on a healthy river system for their livelihood and cultural practices. EQO's Role. We support the understanding of species dynamics by helping our partners in the Klamath analyze genetic material from the river. Our tech allows for non-invasive monitoring of fish populations and other aquatic species, tracking changes in species diversity and abundance. These insights are crucial for understanding how fish and other aquatic organisms are recolonizing restored habitats, assessing the success of biodiversity conservation efforts, and informing future management decisions for both conservation and commercial interests. A variety of Hopi beans harvested today. The pods will be seperated from the plant, laid out to dry, then beans seperated from the pods to store away. These beans survived the hot summer without irrigation. They will be planted in the spring to help them adapt as environmental conditions change. We have been doing this for millenia. As such we have adapted. No quick fix for the sake of convenience. This type of farming has taught me to put ethics and values over profit. Its not how I farm that is important but why I farm.
