On September 5th, the Airport Authority’s Small Business Development Program hosted the 10th annual “Meet the Primes,” a free annual networking event uniquely designed to connect the business community with San Diego International Airport (SAN), prime contractors and concessionaires, public agencies, community banks, businesses and financial support services, and regional partners. ? President & CEO Kim Becker welcomed a record crowd of over 400 attendees and exhibitors. A special thank you to Chair Gil Cabrera, Board Member Lidia Martinez and Authority Staff for joining us in making this event successful. ? First introduced in 2015, “Meet the Primes” has grown to be the Airport Authority’s largest annual business networking event, drawing more than 300 participants each year. It is among the Airport Authority’s efforts to maximize small, local, veteran, and underrepresented businesses’ participation in contracts with the Airport Authority and its partners.

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony today to unveil the first stage of the New Terminal 1 Parking Plaza at San Diego International Airport (SAN). President and CEO Kimberly Becker was joined by Board Chair Gil Cabrera and Airport Authority board members at the ceremony which included a tour of the Parking Plaza. The new five-level parking structure is just steps away from the existing Terminal 1 and the New T1; and will initially offer 2,834 parking spaces. The first stage of the New T1 Parking Plaza will provide more than double the number of spaces offered in the previous Terminal 1 parking lot and will increase the current overall available parking at SAN to more than 6,000 spaces.
