?? On Wednesday, WIN was excited to welcome Kirsten Grado, Adriana M., Bridget Fahey, and Nancy Brandt from CREW Silicon Valley to learn about the commercial real estate and finance industries. ?? The event featured a Q&A speaker panel where students heard about important trends in these industries, such as the impacts of AI and working from home. One of our favorite points from the panel was that though market downturns pose challenges, these difficult times spark creativity and resourcefulness. This event offered a great opportunity to network with successful women in the industry as well as other students in Santa Clara University Women in Business and the SCU Real Estate Association. Thank you so much to our great speakers and stay posted for more from WIN! ????? #WomenInInvestment #WINningWithCREW #ProfessionalDevelopment #WomenInLeadership

Additionally, we want to thank our incredible sponsors EY, Northwestern Mutual, SCU Ciocca Center, Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business, Uyen "Minnie" Thai with Flora Haven, SCU OML, and SCU DISC. Last night, our founders had the privilege of attending the SCU Women in Investment Annual Dinner, and what an inspiring evening it was! The theme, "Women's Unique Assets in Investing," truly encapsulated the essence of the discussions that unfolded. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the panel discussion featuring four remarkable female investors. Their insights, experiences, and perspectives shed light on the often overlooked yet invaluable contributions of women in the world of finance and investing. It was heartening to see the room brimming with eager young women, all keen on delving deeper into the intricacies of finance and investing, particularly from the standpoint of successful women in this field. Their enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge were truly infectious. Events like these not only provide a platform for learning and networking but also serve as powerful catalysts for change. They challenge existing norms, break down barriers, and pave the way for greater diversity and inclusivity within the financial sector. As we reflect on last night's event, let's carry forward the momentum and continue championing the role of women in investment. Together, we can create a more equitable and prosperous future for all. #WomenInFinance #Investing #DiversityandInclusion #FuelAI #TeamFuelAI #FuelYourSuccess Jon Nam, Virginia Puccio

Yesterday, WIN was delighted to host Brian Kahmar and Julia Racioppo from University Credit Union! They offered an overview of what credit is and what a credit score entails, discussed the different credit bureaus, explained what a credit report includes, and more. Brian and Julia highlighted the importance of credit, emphasizing its impact on crucial aspects of life such as renting or buying a home, job opportunities, loan approvals, credit card access, and even factors like car insurance rates and cell phone plans. They also organized a fun game for students to debunk common credit myths, with goodie bags and gift cards awarded to the winners! ?? A big thank you to Brian and Julia for sharing valuable tips and advice on building a positive credit history. #BuildingCredit #WomenInInvestment #FinancialLiteracy

Yesterday, WIN was excited to welcome back Emilia Gonzalez from Northwestern Mutual, who brought along special guests Natalie Le and Carley Leffel to discuss financial goals about the future and how to overcome challenges related to them.? A key takeaway from their presentation is the importance of knowing what you want in life and how long it will take to achieve it. This not only brings your goals into focus but also helps you plan for success. If your current spending doesn’t align, you can look for ways to adjust. For example, you can follow the 20/60/20 saving rule: 20% of your income is allocated towards savings and investments, 60% to essential expenses, and 20% to discretionary purchases. However, you should also look out for yourself in case of emergencies. Having an emergency fund available creates a short term safety net that can be vital when facing unexpected life challenges. It is recommended to have six months’ worth of living expenses in an easily accessible account. Knowing all this, you’ll have a head start in your saving journey! Start saving early, consider options for retirement, and strategically plan your investment opportunities to maximize your time now. ?? Thank you Natalie and Carley for all your insights! #womenininvestment #financialplanning #investing
