#SCPorts marked the completion of a $55 million expansion project at Inland Port Greer. Upgrades include an expanded container yard to increase cargo capacity by 50%, 9,000 feet of additional rail to quickly handle longer trains, an expanded chassis lot, and new terminal operations and maintenance buildings. #SCPorts welcomed the first vessel of the Gemini Cooperation’s TA2/AL3 (A.P. Moller - Maersk / Hapag-Lloyd AG) service to Wando Welch Terminal yesterday. The first-in Charleston service offers the fastest transit from Rotterdam, providing an efficient connection between Northern Europe and Charleston for importers wanting access to the booming Southeast market.

Greer High School is home to one of only six Global Logistics classes in South Carolina. Students from the class recently toured both Inland Port Greer and BMW. They saw daily operations up close, learning the value of logistics operations and jobs available here in the Upstate.
