The Scottish Climate Intelligence Service (SCIS) is now on LinkedIn! ?? The #SCIS is a climate change capacity-building programme for local authorities in Scotland, combining a national digital platform and a support service co-designed by the delivery partners and local authorities from across the country. Our digital platform - ClimateView - will collate area-wide emissions data to create standardised emissions inventories across all 32 of Scotland's local authorities. It will also calculate and visualise the emissions reduction impact of particular projects and interventions taken by local authorities in delivering their own area-wide emissions reduction strategies. Through workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions and 1-2-1s, our tailored support service will help local authorities to build the skills, knowledge and influence to use this data to better plan, monitor and deliver #climateaction at the scale and pace required for achieving their #netzero targets. The SCIS is delivered by a partnership between Edinburgh Climate Change Institute, ClimateView and the Improvement Service. This partnership brings together expert climate knowledge, practitioner insights and a track record of successfully supporting local authorities to deliver high quality, efficient local services both in Scotland and across the world. Follow us here to stay up to date with the SCIS journey and share this page with any colleagues and contacts who might be interested! If you have questions about who we are and what we do, you can contact us at [email protected]. 关于我们
The Scottish Climate Intelligence Service (SCIS) is a capacity-building programme with both a national digital platform and a support service co-designed with its stakeholders. The digital platform will collate area-wide emissions data to build a baseline, calculating and visualising the emissions reduction impact of projects and actions taken by local authorities to help deliver their own area-wide emissions reduction strategies. The service aspect of the SCIS will support local authorities in building the skills, knowledge, and influence to use this data to enable planning, monitoring and delivery of climate action at the scale and pace required for achieving net zero targets. The SCIS is delivered by a partnership between Edinburgh Climate Change Institute, ClimateView and the Improvement Service. This partnership brings together expert knowledge and practitioner insights, a track record of successfully supporting local authorities and access to existing networks to engage stakeholders and progress actions.

Our brilliant Judi Kilgallon doing what she does best: cutting through the noise and reminding us that people - those making decisions and those affected by those decisions - are the cornerstone of effective and equitable net zero policymaking ??
Clean Heat 2025. Great intro by my wonderful colleague Judi Kilgallon to the discussions on LHEES, highlighting why remembering the benefits to people, and the role of people in decision making, is so important in what can (perhaps too often) become quite a technical discussion around energy transition and net zero. It's the end of the road...for now ?? Today, the Scottish Climate Intelligence Service Roadshow series comes to an end today at COSLA. Having hosted two Roadshow events in Glasgow and Inverness, the SCIS and ClimateView teams are excited to be finishing in Edinburgh. Once again, we're looking forward to welcoming local authority colleagues and public sector delivery partners representing a range of sectors from sustainability and energy efficiency to transport and community development. Our day of presentations, workshops, discussion and collaboration enables attendees and the SCIS delivery team to focus on two key questions: 1. What are the key barriers local authorities face in their attempts to embed and implement effective climate decision making? 2. How can the SCIS better help local authorities to overcome these challenges? Because really (and it is worth repeating!), we know what the problem is, we know the sectors to target to have the greatest impact, and we understand the solutions available - it's now about effective, area-wide delivery ?? For the final time for a little while, the SCIS and ClimateView teams are looking forward to meeting our local authority partners in-person very soon! New week, new adventures! The Scottish Climate Intelligence Service is back on the road ??? Following a fantastic Roadshow event in Glasgow last Thursday, today the SCIS and ClimateView teams are hosting the second of three roadshow events in Inverness! We're looking forward to welcoming local authority colleagues and public sector delivery partners representing a range of sectors from climate change and energy to transport, planning and economic development. Through a day of presentations, workshops, discussion and collaboration, our roadshow events will enable attendees and the SCIS delivery team to focus on two key questions: 1. What are the key barriers local authorities face in their attempts to embed and implement effective climate decision making? 2. How can the SCIS better help local authorities to overcome these challenges? Because really, we know what the problem is, we know the sectors to target to have the greatest impact, and we understand the solutions available - it's now about effective, area-wide delivery ?? The Scottish Climate Intelligence Service is on the road ??? Today, the SCIS and ClimateView teams are hosting our first roadshow event of 2025 at Glasgow Caledonian University! We'll be welcoming Councillors, Heads of Service and Officers from 16 Scottish local authorities who work across sectors ranging from climate, energy and LHEES to transport, behaviour change and governance. Through a day of targeted learning, discussion and collaboration, our roadshow events centre on two key questions: 1. What are the key barriers local authorities face in their attempts to embed and implement effective Net Zero decision making? 2. How can the SCIS better help local authorities to overcome these challenges? Because really, we know what the problem is, we know the sectors to target to have the greatest impact, and we understand the solutions available - it's now about effective, area-wide delivery?? ClimateView are in the building ?? The Scottish Climate Intelligence Service team is thrilled to welcome our partners at ClimateView for a day of workshops, problem-solving and co-creation, hosted at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute. In this photo, Orren Shalit and Tomer Shalit are leading discussions as the team dives into the four critical, iterative steps for effective area-wide climate action: 1. Lay the Foundations - understand where you are. 2. Set Targets - break your goal down into specific transitions that add up to your goal. 3. Take Action - what interventions, policies and innovation do we need to reach these targets, and who is delivering them? 4. Track Progress - monitor your actions, define your indicators and evaluate as part of an iterative process. An exciting day ahead ?? #Collaboration #NetZero #ClimateAction #Scotland #LocalGovernment
