With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our colleague and friend, Mark Guin, Vice President of Equipment. Mark was a dedicated and talented team member and like family to us all. Mark joined Scott Bridge Company in 2011, quickly establishing himself as a crucial part of our organization. His commitment to excellence was apparent in all his endeavors, setting high standards for those with whom he met and worked. His enthusiasm for the industry and his relentless pursuit of improvement motivated his colleagues while bolstering the reputation of reliability and quality at Scott Bridge. His contributions extended far beyond his professional achievements; he was a devoted husband, nurturing father, and committed friend. His presence was magnetic, and his absence has created an irreplaceable void in our hearts. We extend our deepest sympathies to Mark's family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. We are committed to supporting Mark's wife, Kay, and daughters, Kristie and Maggie, as they navigate their grief through this most difficult time. For those wishing to express condolences, a visitation service will be held on November 22nd, 2024, at 10AM CST, followed by a memorial service at 11AM CST at Jeffcoat Trant Funeral Home in Opelika, Alabama. We invite all who knew and loved Mark to join us in remembering and honoring his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, Mark’s family requests donations be made to the Miracle League of East Alabama. This month has been a whirlwind of activity on the Gulf Shores Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway! The first deck pour has taken place at the Brampton Road Connector in Savannah, GA! This project involves building a four-lane highway, two bridges, and State Route Spur 26 linking Brampton Road, Georgia Ports Authority Gate 2, and Foundation Drive to SR 25, SR 21, and US 80, with a redesigned interchange to I-516. It also includes relocating a Norfolk Southern mainline track and adding an additional spur track. Brampton Road Connector will establish a direct route to the interstate for heavy commercial truck traffic linked to intermodal terminal transfers, significantly improving the efficiency of transferring goods between the port, rail, and interstate highway systems and reducing the traffic impact on local communities. #buildingtoserve #contractor #construction #engineering #bridge #dirtworld #constructionindustry #civilconstruction

Auburn University President Chris Roberts, Auburn Engineering Dean Mario Eden and others gathered in the Advanced Structural Engineering Laboratory on Sept. 19 to honor the Scott Bridge Family for their recent gift to the lab and to dedicate the Scott Bridge “Building to Serve” Crane.
