Scott System is thrilled to see the Y-Wave coastal defense project designed by Ethan Aspiras and Marcus Morgan featured in Dezeen! Working with Fort Miller Group, these Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute students used digital fabrication and advanced concrete techniques to create ecological armoring units for the shoreline of Governors Island in New York. The multi-scalar design considers urban ecology, waterfront restoration, and material science - providing erosion protection while also serving as a nursery for marine life. Located in Denver, CO, 16 Chestnut is a 19-story LEED Platinum Certified 648,874 sq. ft. office building containing two levels of underground parking and five levels of above-ground parking.
