This Veterans Day, we recognize Luis Carvajal, one of our Orlando Project Managers, who served in the U.S. Navy from 2013 to 2021. Luis served as part of the Seabees in a Naval Mobile Construction Battalion and was deployed to Active Duty to places in Africa (Chad) and Afghanistan. “During my time in the service, I developed unforgettable long-lasting friendships with people I still hang out with today,” said Luis. “The Navy prepared me for construction through hands-on experience with framing, concrete, plumbing, and HVAC.” To all our veterans, we thank you for your service. Your dedication and sacrifice allow us to build the future, one brick at a time. #veteransday #communitycenteredconstruction #buildpeople #thankyouforyourservice

Many tears and fur were shed today at the Ground Breaking of the Marion County Animal Shelter. Newly located within Ocala city limits, this brand new 28,000SF shelter addresses the need for improved animal welfare in the area, expanding the ability to provide greater service and functions for some of the smallest members of the community. The shelter will be located on 20 acres of land and in addition to a modernized structure, the new shelter will include specified areas to accommodate socialization and enrichment in efforts to comfortably and safely acclimate animals in low-stress environments. Making it the best atmosphere to adopt, and be adopted. People need buildings that frame their lives, and animals need buildings that foster their safeguarding. #TeamScorpio is thrilled to bring the Marion County Animal Shelter to life, to give these animals another chance at life. #CommunityCenteredConstruction #MakeBuildingsForLife

We love partnering with the University of Florida to help build the next generation! On Saturday we broke ground with the University of Florida and University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences on the W. W. Glenn Teaching Building, a new facility that will provide a maker-space with collaborative space for design teams, a hands-on carpentry woodshop, and additional space for offices, a break room, restrooms, storage and IT. This teaching building will replace the current outdated metal structures that are unconditioned and generally uninhabitable for students, faculty and staff. #buildpeople #makebuildingsforlife
