I spend several weeks of my year at sustainability conferences like #Verge24 (Trellis Group) or Climate Week NYC (Climate Group) or SF Climate Week to share more about our Carbon Savings Account? (CSA). When I explain the CSA to the other conference attendees (most of whom are leading sustainability experts), the most common compliment I receive is, “Wow, the CSA is the coolest thing I’ve heard all week.” When Kaitlin Highstreet and I first started working on Scope Zero several years ago, I thought going to sustainability conferences wouldn’t be fruitful for us. I wasn’t sure how we could stand out in a room filled with so many other solution providers fighting the same good fight against climate change. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. Even when we are surrounded by hundreds of other fantastic climate solutions providers, we still are told the CSA is “the coolest thing” that leading sustainability experts have learned about at every conference I attend. Why? Because the CSA is simple, affordable, effective, tangible, and universally-relatable. Global sustainability starts with educating individuals about the importance of sustainability in their personal lives. The CSA makes sustainability personal and tangible by helping people make efficiency upgrades that can save the average US home over $5,000 per year in utility bills and fuel expenses. The CSA educates people on how simple home technology upgrades can save the average US home over 22,000 gallons of water per year. The CSA simplifies the complex process of making home upgrades by connecting individuals with CSA products and vendors. The CSA makes sustainability real, actionable, and achievable for individuals. Once individuals know and care about sustainability at a personal level, groups of individuals who lead our corporations and governments are equipped and determined to make positive sustainability change in their positions as well. Climate needs all of us working towards a more sustainable future, and the CSA is the most impactful solution an organization can provide to their employees to bring everyone on board the climate fight. #CorporateResponsibility #CSR #CorporateESG #ESG

We're thrilled to partner with Carbon Collective to offer our employees a sustainable 401(k) option that aligns with our mission. With Carbon Collective’s support, we've been able to provide our employees with a retirement plan that doesn’t just grow their financial future but also contributes to a more sustainable world. We look forward to continuing this impactful partnership and inspiring other organizations to make climate-aligned financial choices.
I help mission-driven employers get awesome 401(k)'s. I also think a lot about climate change, investing, and retirement.
Awesome client alert! Upgrading/electrifying your house saves you money. What if your employer helped you save for it? Enter Scope Zero. They have launched a really innovative solution, they call it a CSA or Carbon Savings Account. It's a voluntary program where employers who want to reduce their Scope 3 emissions can match and incentivize their employees to put a small % of each pay check into a dedicated account that can be used on home/life decarbonization projects. What we love is that it's not just great for the climate, but it's great for employee financial health too. Scope Zero estimates that if the average household took all of their actions, they would save an average of $5k per year in energy and transportation costs. That's real money. If you're in corporate sustainability and looking for your next win/win, highly suggest you reach out to the team. They are wonderful and are building something pretty awesome.

As?defined by the #EPA,?#Scope3Emissions?are emissions created from the result of activities from assets not owned or controlled by a reporting organization, but the organization indirectly affects its value chain. For most organizations, scope 3 emissions account for most of their greenhouse gas emissions. Most of these emissions come from upstream or downstream activities, such as delivery of products, raw materials, or distribution.
