Doug Tharp has been working with Martin Gibbs of Broadcast Technical Partners. Here, Martin is showing off his GatesAir FAX2K installation for KWOT. They are located in Kanab, UT and service Christian programming on the Utah and Arizona border.

RedRock Broadcasting moved into their new studio facility in St George, UT this month. The President of RedRock made the decision to purchase WheatNet AoIP for their audio infrastructure serving KURR, KUTQ, KRQX, and KZYN. Installation completed by contract engineers Gary Smith and Kelton Lloyd.

Hope Media Group’s WAYA, servicing listeners in Charleston, SC, lost it’s 25-year-old Harris HT25CD Tube Transmitter. Phil Jennings, VP of Eng for Hope Media called Doug Tharp, at SCMS, and ordered a new FAX30K solid-state transmitter. GatesAir was able to arrange an immediate shipment that arrived in Charleston 5 days later. Paul Matthews, Regional Eng Manager and Wayne Traywick, Houston staff engineer, flew in and removed the HT25, installed the FAX30K, and got WAYA on the air. Paul mentioned, “It was really easy to position the new FAX30K split configuration into place and have the transmitter making radio.”

Antenna towers are amazing structures. SCMS’ Andy Cole and Dielectric’s Cory Edwards, worked closely with Vincent Fuhs of MPR on their new antenna and combiner installation in Blackduck, MN. Here’s what Vincent had to say…… “I am extremely happy with the outcome of the antenna installation. Everything was labeled for easy assembly and all equipment showed up damage free. Pierre Jaspar, VP of Engineering for Spanish Broadcast Systems, is behind the camera showing off his two new FLX10K liquid cooled transmitters for stations WODA and WZNT in Puerto Rico.
