SCIHRA ~ SHRM AFFILIATED LOCAL CHAPTER The mission of the SCIHRA is to advance the knowledge, skills and abilities of Human Resource Professionals by providing access to a variety of diverse learning experiences and opportunities to build professional competencies that will improve their effectiveness as HR leaders. SCIHRA is committed to promoting the human resource profession and the competencies of all human resource professionals in the South Central Indiana area. Membership in SCIHRA is open to all individuals with a professional interest in Human Resources. Our chapter has three levels of membership (gold, silver, and student) to adapt to diverse needs. Individuals seeking membership can conveniently apply for membership by completing the Membership Application online or paper. All prospective and renewing SCIHRA members can also contact our Vice President of Membership for an application. Click here to become a SCIHRA member! The chapter encourages members in preparing for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification examination offered by the Human Resource Certification Institute. We have partnered with The Human Equation (aka HRTutor.com), a leading provider of web-based training to the HR marketplace to help our members develop their HR knowledge as well as earning up to 31.5 credits that are HRCI approved for PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification. Members interested in developing themselves within the South Central Indiana Human Resource community may actively contribute to the profession by participating in a wide variety of chapter initiatives. Many of those opportunities may involve participating in chapter programs and events or serving as a member of the SCIHRA board of directors.

(ROI), a position she has held since 2018. In her role with ROI, Kim works to connect industry with educational partners to increase career awareness for students in the high-demand, high-opportunity careers across the Indiana Uplands, an 11-county region in southwest central Indiana. UpSkill Work and Learn youth apprenticeship, is a current talent retention strategy for the key sectors of life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and national security and defense in the Uplands region. Prior to ROI, Kim had a successful 36-year career at General Motors in Bedford, Indiana, working in human resources, manufacturing, safety, training, communications, ergonomics, and finance. Renae Christianson is the Student Success Manager for the UpSkill youth apprenticeship program at Regional Opportunity Initiatives, Inc. (ROI). UpSkill Work and Learn youth apprenticeship is a current talent retention strategy for the key sectors of life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and national security and defense in the Uplands region.
