Did you hear about our work pairing cutting edge autonomy with search and rescue dogs? ?? In an exercise conducted for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Scientific Systems demonstrated software that enables robotic teammates to understand a dog’s search response behaviors and accurately predict the location of a lost victim. This first-of-its-kind demonstration represents a breakthrough in teaming capabilities pairing autonomous systems with living teammates. https://lnkd.in/e8qHuA8p #DARPA #autonomy #defensetechnology #searchandrescue #SAR

?? The US Army has contracted Scientific Systems to upgrade its Buried Object Reporting and Identification System counter-unexploded ordnance solution. Managed by the army’s Humanitarian Demining Research and Development, BORIS is modern software designed for civilian bomb disposal missions. “In the wake of conflicts, the remnants of war including undetonated bombs and other explosives have triggered humanitarian crises by blocking access to aid, preventing families from returning home and killing innocent civilians,” Scientific Systems President?Kunal Mehra?said. “We are proud to continue our work with the United States Army to upgrade BORIS to help address a new generation of unexploded threats on the battlefield and in the aftermath of conflicts.” #military #army?#defense?#defence #defenseindustry #defenceindustry #defensetech #defencetech #militarytech #technology #usarmy #mine #mines #software

Yesterday, it was an honor and a pleasure to represent the Capitol Chapter of the Naval Submarine League (NSL), along with chapter president John Newton, PMP, NSL Executive Director Tim Oliver and other members of NSL and US Sub Vets, Inc (USSVI), to present a model of the USS George C. Marshall (SSBN 654) to Thomas Greenspon, Chairman of the The George C. Marshall International Center. The model (great work Nathan Rocklein !), along with a print of the ship donated by USSVI, will go on display in Dodona Manor in Leesburg, VA, the home of General Marshall. The ceremony was part of a 80 year anniversary of D-Day event, sponsored by The Town of Leesburg. This donation represents a fitting tribute to Gen Marshall - the ultimate warrior and peacemaker - as well a great remembrance of SSBN 654's crew, who kept the peace over the course of the ship's 26 year service during the Cold War.
