??Can health insurers excel at customer experience (CX) without AI? I was asked this question during a recent interview, and it sparked a lively discussion ?? Yes, it's possible to stick to traditional methods of customer interaction. But there are two areas where you WON'T be able to avoid AI to achieve superior CX: ?? Chatbots Traditional bots just don't cut it anymore. The era of scripted, robotic replies is over. Keeping traditional bots in 2024 is rather a road to CX disruption, given the insureds' expectation bar. My take on the matter: AI-powered bots are one of the most rewarding investments for health insurance CX. With generative AI, you can meet modern expectations: immediate, natural, and multi-language support, handling over 90% of inquiries in real time. An AI bot can help your customers pick the optimal health insurance plans, resolve coverage issues like missed enrollments and claim denials, or find the fitting healthcare providers – all at the pace and accuracy equivalent to live human assistance. ?? Security Recent advancements in AI-produced deepfakes caused a spike in digital identity forgery. AI fraud is not recognizable by conventional security mechanisms, nor can it be easily caught by the human eye. Imagine your customer service rep having a video call with a claimant to navigate one through the settlement flow. Scenarios where fraudsters use AI to synthesize the victim's real-time voice and video image are today's horrid reality. And your reps may have no idea they are giving instructions to an AI-generated character. The solution? Fight AI with AI. Smart fraud detection engines are the only surefire way to protect customer data from evolving threats.
