    Insurance customers are all in for online self-service options, but too often, their actual experiences fall short of expectations. McKinsey & Company found that insurance has ?? the lowest CSAT with digital service delivery in the whole BFSI sector, with 30% of insureds being totally dissatisfied with the digital channels offered by traditional carriers. What does this mean for incumbents? ? Staying content with the “as-is” digital customer experience (CX) can lead to rising customer frustration, churn, and market share loss to insurtech peers who prioritize CX. How can insurers elevate digital CX? ?? Look at where your client-side solutions lag behind the leading insurtech offers and fill the most glaring gaps first. Continue adding “nice-to-haves” later. Here are the digital strategies, from core to value-adding, that I usually suggest to my clients in insurance. From my experience, these strategies can drive an ?? up to 80% increase in customer retention, 90% higher engagement, and 7%+ growth in CSAT: 1?? Be mobile-friendly A mobile insurance app is a no-brainer for CX. If your IT budgets are tight, consider launching a web portal with a responsive design or converting your existing web platform into a responsive layout. The latter is about 2x cheaper than a mobile app and nearly as effective for CX: a responsive web interface offers an equally convenient look & feel across all mobile devices. 2?? Automate customer self-service Automation will free your insureds from manual routines across self-onboarding, application filing, premium payment, claim submission, and policy renewal. For example, intelligent OCR and RPA tools can automate data capture from customer documents and auto-populate forms, removing a lot of friction for clients. 3?? Provide dynamic, personalized user journeys Some of my insurance clients have launched AI-powered contextual analytics on their online platforms to deliver hyperpersonalized CX. AI can tailor landing page contents, search results, and product recommendations to the preferences and actions of each customer on the fly, maximizing the relevance of the insurance offer. 4?? Offer advanced virtual assistants If done right, intelligent bots will let you immediately respond to insureds’ inquiries 24/7. And I don’t mean just answering FAQs — advanced assistants powered by large language models (LLMs) can handle up to 80% of queries and route non-standard issues to human agents. While 29% of customers say bots are ineffective, insurers that use smart advisors report a 7% increase in CSAT. Want to know more?     Tokenizing real estate can boost asset liquidity and increase property value by 30–300%. Yet, as of early 2025, tokens are mainly traded on their primary issuance platforms, which limits liquidity benefits. Deloitte and Gartner call scarce secondary markets the primary roadblocks to mainstream estate tokenization. But why is it so hard to develop a secondary market for tokenized real estate? ? Moving tokens between blockchains is a challenge Different blockchains operate on distinct protocols and smart contract standards, making it difficult to transfer and trade tokens across networks. Point-to-point cross-chain bridges struggle to connect multiple blockchains efficiently. ? Traditional financial systems and blockchain don’t integrate easily Transacting, ownership transfer, and proof-of-reserve mechanisms differ for blockchain and traditional investment platforms, which complicates consistent secondary trading across centralized and decentralized marketplaces. To help the real estate investment firms among our clients navigate this challenge, my colleagues at ScienceSoft researched the latest market initiatives driving interoperability for tokenized estate: ?? Axelar Network launched a multi-chain protocol enabling tokenized asset transfer between 15 major blockchains, including Ethereum, Cosmos, and Binance Smart Chain. By providing a secure and scalable communication layer, Axelar allows the trading of real estate tokens across different Web3 ecosystems. ?? Visa rolled out the Visa Tokenized Asset Platform (VTAP), a pilot product allowing financial institutions to issue and manage fiat-pegged tokens across multiple blockchains. Once available for public use, VTAP’s infrastructure will help integrate real estate tokens into both traditional finance and blockchain ecosystems. ?? Swift is partnering with Chainlink and major financial institutions (BNY Mellon, BNP Paribas, Citi, Lloyds) to test its solution for cross-network transfer of tokenized assets. Once live, the solution will enable frictionless secondary trading of real estate tokens on CeFi and DeFi marketplaces. Our internal research predicts that with interoperable secondary markets in place, the tokenized real estate market may soar to ?? $3 trillion by 2030 and represent 15% of global real estate AUM.
