One of our speakers from the 2018 Science Through Narrative symposium is preparing for a global tour of his innovative dance group, Prehistoric Body Theater!
Senior Associate, Environmental & Social Innovation, MI Strategic Philanthropy | Founder & Principal, Science Through Story, LLC
I am a longtime fan of Prehistoric Body Theater, a dance theater company by Ari Dharminalan Rudenko and his talented team. The group uses Indonesian dance to embody stories of our shared evolutionary history in immersive theatrical performances. It is one of the most creative and interdisciplinary science outreach initiatives I have seen. We were privileged to have Ari speak and contribute a great paper to a science storytelling symposium I organized in 2018, and I had the honor of speaking with the PHB group remotely a few years ago. It has been inspiring to watch the project grow. I’ve seen some incredible recorded performances of their premiere show “Ghosts of Hell Creek,” and I hope to see the group perform live in the US next year. Please consider supporting this wonderful project! #scicomm #scienceoutreach #dancetheater #evolution #indonesiandance
