We are counting down to Giving Tuesday on December 3rd. As a Georgia based nonprofit, we are participating in GA Gives Day on Giving Tuesday, which encourages contributions to Georgia based organizations. Every August, when we start a new program year, we want to continue to make an impact in the communities we serve through our two hybrid programs, Community STEM and Experimental Design Program that provides K-12 students with digital learning opportunities and in-person programs and events in Metro Atlanta. Our programs increase K-12 students' awareness of STEM Careers and encourage participation in STEM research through digital learning and hands-on activities. We were able to make a great impact thus far in the 2024-25 program year, and we can so much more with your support, You don’t have to wait until Giving Tuesday to support SEM Link. You start today in whatever ways you have decided to support this campaign. We are able to “unveil potential through exposure” for youth because of individuals like you who believe in our mission and provide the financial resources for our programs. Donate anytime between now and Giving Tuesday on our campaign website via the link below bit.ly/SEMLINKGAGIVES #GAGivesDayonGivingTuesday #GivingTuesday #UnveilingPotentialthroughExposure #CommunitySTEM #ExperimentalDesignProgram #STEMOutreach #ATLNonprofits #GiveBlack #GiveSmall

Unveiling Potential Through Exposure
关于我们
Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link, Inc. (SEM Link), a tax-exempt national nonprofit organization, founded in 2005 by Ms. Tokiwa T. Smith in Atlanta, Georgia on the premise that exposure to members of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) communities is critical to student achievement and career exploration in math and science. Our two core programs, Experimental Design Program and Math and Science Career Academy, enhance the STEM educational experience for K-12 students by providing them with opportunities to engage in hands-on STEM activities, explore STEM careers and learn about real-world applications of STEM. Since our inception we have served thousands of youth in Atlanta, the San Francisco Bay Area and the Washington DC Metro Area. We currently serve Atlanta and the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) metropolitan areas.

Check out this AWESOME recap of the STEM-tivities from October! Last month we did chemistry outreach with The Happy Black Parent, Pass Network Org, and?City of Douglasville, GA Parks and Recreation. Teens explored careers in genetics and genomics and biomedical science. Teens also explored botany with our first Teen Science Cafe at?Douglasville First UMC. We had awesome volunteers including from?the Spelman Chemistry Club. October was filled with astonishing (chemical) reactions and cool conversations around STEM. ?? This is what cultivating curiosity looks like. Watch the entire recap and stay tuned for more! #unveilingpotentialthroughexposure?#communitystem?#experimentaldesignprogram?#stemeducation?#stemoutreach?#stemcareers?#stem?#stemed?#youth?#youthdevelopment?#youthactivities?#stemactivities?#stemactivitiesforkids?#careerexploration?#biomedicalscience?#botany?#chemistry?#NCW2024

In August, we started our 2024-25 program year excited about another year to "unveil potential through exposure". Thanks to our community partners, volunteers, donors and funders as well as the hard work of our Program Coordinator Carlyn Pounders and Program Assistant Askari Bumphus, we made a great impact during the first quarter of this program year. Our Community STEM Program exposed youth to STEM careers and engaged them in hands-on STEM activities. Our Experimental Design Program accepted 6 students into the 5th cohort of our STEM Journal Club. We are so thankful to do this work to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals by providing them with positive adult role models in STEM.
