Seti, Seti bobeti. Bonana fanna fo feti. SETI! : Guest : Chenoa Tremblay The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Kovi laughed as Benjamin's mind was blown when hearing this knowledge nugget from this week's guest, researcher for the SETI Institute, Chenoa D. Tremblay, PhD. Who, you asked? Let's put it this way - if there are alien civilizations out there, Chenoa is the person who's going to find it. Seriously. Name a radio telescope - chances are she's used it to look for life, or signs of life, out there in the cosmos. Join us as we discuss biosignatures, technosignatures, and strong opinions on pizza. I've never been a fan of anything in the whiskey, bourbon, scotch family but there is some interesting science around these liquors. We of course start with the biggest question, what is the difference between the three? Anyone know?
We're at it again! This time Science, Actually and I talk all things whiskey, bourbon and scotch. Starting with the most important question, what is the difference between the three? Join us for fun, learning, laughs and of course, the ever present question of what we're drinking this time. https://lnkd.in/eNF4cdvd #podcast #newepisode #science #scicomm #luxury #luxuryscience #wedrinkandwelearnthings

If that's not a reason to give this episode a listen we don't know what is. Tune in to our milestone 50th episode as the gang discusses possible life on other worlds, what they need to evolve, how we can detect them, is there possible extraterrestrial life in our own Solar System, and more. SciComm(edy) Guest : Rachel Rayner The Explainer Kovi got an astrophysics degree because he wanted to do astrophysics and then just kind of fell into this SciComm game. Benjamin got a film degree because he wanted to do film and then just kind of fell into this SciComm game. This week's guest, Rachel Rayner the Explainer, got both science AND arts degrees (at the same time!) specifically for SciComm, and has dazzled and sparkled her way across the scicommverse with no signs of slowing down. Join the boys as they talk to Rayner about her science comedy shows, science poetry, and her unique disco-ball-eqsue style of science communication. Michelangelo had an astonishing understanding of human anatomy, which was so advanced that some of his artwork reveals details that were unknown or poorly understood in his time. One particularly obscure example is the "Creation of Adam" on the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Researchers have noted that the depiction of God surrounded by angels resembles an anatomically accurate cross-section of the human brain. #science #sciencefacts #michaelangelo #creationofadam #sistinechapel #humanbrain #anatomy

90% of the atoms in our bodies were forged in stars - elements like carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and iron. The remaining 10% comes from the Big Bang - the universe's first moments which created the lightest elements, hydrogen and helium. Thanks for sharing, Professor Erika Hamden! #science #sciencefacts #atoms #humanbody #humanbodyfacts #bigbang

Beavers are incredibly skilled tree fellers, and they rely on their keen hearing to detect whether a tree is starting to fall. When chewing through a tree, they often pause to listen for the characteristic cracking sounds that signal the tree is weakening. #science #sciencefacts #beavers #trees #treefelling #totesadorbs
