If there’s one thing to be said about SCI employees, it’s about their character. LCS Director Caleb Nicholas not only organized a hurricane relief drive, but also took the time to drive the materials all the way to Boone, NC to help provide the much-needed help for the residents after the recent hurricanes. SCI employees took it upon themselves to pull together and donate money, clothing, water and other supplies to aid the towns affected by the natural disasters. Upon his arrival in North Carolina, Caleb discovered that the destruction was massively worse than what had been shown on TV. Caleb recalls, “It was almost incomprehensible at times. That being said, the overwhelming feeling was one of hope and community.” Our SCI employees came together entirely on their own to donate to this cause. They’ve given over 500lb of winter clothing, four 50-gallon totes of propane, heaters, cleaning supplies, and more, as well as over $2,400. We cannot begin to express how proud we are of our SCI family for taking this upon themselves to help those in need.
