This Women’s History Month we’d like to highlight the life of our founder Louisa Lee Schuyler. Although Louisa’s family was well-known, her greatest legacy is separate and grounded in the social reform she both participated in, and made possible in the years after her death. We invite you to step into the life of Louisa and learn more about her powerful legacy that we still strive to honor today: https://lnkd.in/da_24e4E Honor Louisa’s legacy by uniting with us in hope: https://scaany.org/donate/ #WomensHistoryMonth #WomensMonth

?? It is necessary that the final New York State budget for 2025-26 includes at least $500M to establish a permanent workforce fund, and an additional $500M for CCAP. The Empire State Campaign for Child Care coalition unites child care providers, parents, advocates, and young people across New York to demand universal child care for every child, regardless of income, immigration status, or zip code. In a world where working families struggle and educators are undervalued, we’re fighting for a child care solution that meets every New Yorker’s needs - where educators earn a thriving wage and child care is treated as a public good, not a private burden. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eBhmKBnn A huge thank you to Youth FX for beautifully captured the passion and commitment of the campaign’s members by showcasing the vibrant energy of this year’s event. ?? 1 in 5 children in New York are living in poverty, but a brighter future is within reach. The Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council has recommended policies that will cut child poverty in New York by 50% by 2031, including housing vouchers, enhanced cash assistance, and expanded food assistance programs. We are calling on Governor Hochul to make it happen—for every child, every family, and every community. Learn more at https://newyorkcan.org/. #NYCanEndChildPoverty

This Women’s History Month we are honoring our founder Louisa Lee Schuyler. Pioneering social reformer Louisa Lee Schuyler started SCAA on May 11, 1872 as the State Charities Aid Association in response to the deplorable conditions she observed in hospitals and almshouses in New York City. Her life was dedicated to public service, and she left a legacy that speaks volumes about the way she lived her life.
