Designing next-generation polymers requires optimization of several key properties simultaneously, which is challenging using traditional experimental approaches. Scientists at SABIC and Schr?dinger recently published a paper presenting a novel workflow to optimize multiple polymer properties concurrently, which was validated experimentally to produce polymers with promising properties. Today, Schr?dinger announced that we are broadening and accelerating our initiative to predict toxicology risk early in drug discovery. The goal of the initiative — first announced earlier this year, and supported by funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation — is to develop a computational solution to improve the properties of novel drug development candidates and reduce the risk of binding to off-target proteins, which can be associated with serious side effects. Schr?dinger's Shaoxian Sun recently presented new preclinical data on SGR-3515, our investigational Wee1/Myt1 inhibitor, during a poster session at the 36th EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium (ENA 2024). The data demonstrate that in preclinical models, treatment with SGR-3515 results in synergistic anti-tumor activity that leads to deeper and more durable responses compared to inhibitors that target only Wee1 or Myt1. A Phase 1 dose-escalation study of SGR-3515 in patients with advanced solid tumors is ongoing in the U.S. and Canada, and initial data from the clinical study is expected in the second half of 2025.
