It was a privilege for me to meet Dr. Forrest Meiere, founding chair of the Department of Physics at the School of Science at IU Indianapolis, who served our institution for 32 years. We are grateful for Dr Meire's dedication to the department and his support of the work they do as well as his generous contribution to creating the Forrest Meiere Endowed Physics Chair. During the event, we celebrated Dr. Scott Imhoff—one of Dr. Meiere's former students—who was recognized with the prestigious Laurel Pin. And a special thank you to the Avon High School students who were also in attendance, led by their teacher, Paul Haiducu.

Today we had the wonderful experience of honoring Dr. Forrest Meiere at our annual Meiere symposium. As the first and longest serving chair of our department of physics, Dr. Meiere’s contributions, dedication and generosity to the School of Science has impacted countless lives, and many yet to come ?? We’d like to offer a very special thank you to Indiana University Indianapolis Chancellor Dr. Latha Ramchand, speakers Alexis Emalianoff, Drs. Vivek Amin, Stuart Kenderes, Ruihua Cheng and Marcelo Jaime, and the amazing group of visiting students from Avon High School for joining us for this special occasion! ??????

The ?Internship Spotlight Series? continues with senior Megan Goley! She utilized her background in #psychology as a Human Resources Intern with Eli Lilly and Company here in Indianapolis. Megan shared, "This opportunity taught me more than I ever could have imagined. I was able to meet and network with so many HR professionals and learn about their roles all while completing a summer-long project. Throughout this experience, I was able to connect and apply what I have learned in the classroom to real life scenarios and learn from experienced professionals!"
