?? Live from the 2024 PATRON Meeting! Today, some of the biggest names in the foodservice industry are coming together to connect, learn, and dive deep into the current school nutrition environment. It’s an exciting day of collaboration and insight as we create this space where they can discuss and work towards better supporting schools and their meal programs. ???? One of the highlights of today is an interactive session, “Empathy: Leading a Multigeneration Workforce,” hosted by the incredible Skot Waldron!?? This session is all about understanding how to lead across generations, fostering empathy, and creating stronger teams. Yesterday our CEO Patti Montague, FASAE, CAE, along with President Shannon Gleave RDN,SNS, President-Elect Stephanie Dillard, and Vice President Ashley Powell, PhD, RDN, SNS, were representing SNA at the Fall 2024 Healthy Meals Summit with 800 incredible attendees! Shannon had the honor of serving as a judge for the School Meal Cooking Challenge along with Chef Anne Cooper, USDA FNS Deputy Under Secretary Cindy Long, and FNS Director Sheldon Gordon. The competition was fierce, and the creativity was inspiring! And in the morning, Shannon also joined a panel during the Opening General Session with Cindy Long, Dr. Robert Murray, and a board member from Action for Healthy Kids, discussing the future of school meals and the steps we can take to keep raising the bar. The Fall Summit is all about equipping school nutrition professionals with the tools and knowledge to conquer their nutrition goals and elevate the quality of meals in schools. We’re thrilled to be here with so many wonderful SNA members, working together to make an impact! #HMIFallSummit #HealthyMealsIncentives #SchoolNutrition #SchoolMeals #madewithschoollunch #SNA

?? SNA Needs Your Input! ?? Our Public Policy and Legislation Committee is gearing up to draft the 2025 Position Paper, and we want to hear from you! Your feedback is crucial in shaping our advocacy efforts and addressing the biggest challenges facing school meal programs. With your help, SNA’s 2024 Position Paper called on Congress to tackle long-term economic and regulatory challenges for school meal programs. But there’s more work to do. School meal programs are facing serious financial, operational, and regulatory hurdles, and your voice is key to addressing these challenges. Together, we can continue to push for the support our programs need to thrive. ?? Have your say and make a difference in shaping the future of school nutrition! Members received a survey email from “The School Nutrition Association” yesterday, Wednesday, October 16. That email contained a link to access and complete the survey. ??
