What a strong start to PLC 2024. In our second year partnering with Teach For America D.C. and Virginia, we are bringing together 16 district and charter leaders across DC. Leaders were reminded that they are not alone and that there is power in connection. As one leader shared, "What is clear to me now is I really needed this PLC."

Nicolás Ojeda, APLA 2023 and Assistant Principal at MACFARLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL, shares, “Colloquially, this Uruguayan phrase is used to cheer, hype, uplift, or encourage. This phrase helps motivate others while connecting me to my origins.”

SLC 2024 kicked off their learning last week by witnessing the magic happening at DC Bilingual Public Charter School (a Blue Ribbon School). Our leaders spent the afternoon sharpening their instructional lenses and reflecting on their leadership. We can’t wait to see them take their learning live!

DC Bilingual Public Charter School has been recognized as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School! This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of their teachers, staff, and school leaders. A special shoutout to Daniela Anello, Head of School at DCB, who has placed several of her leaders in our programs, including co-principals Eleni McCabe (TFA DC PLC 2024) and Ina Borjas (SLC 2023). Having just launched our second AP Leadership Cohort with the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), Greg Moffitt, Director of Principal Development at DCPS, illustrates how their partnership with School Leader Lab helps assistant principals stay in their roles longer.
