In a recent study on the Global Talent Shortage by ManpowerGroup, one of the top 5 "soft skills" that employers are looking for?but struggling to find in candidates is the ability to be curious, active learners. At SEN, we believe it is crucial to empower students to be engaged and active participants in their own learning, which is why we’re such strong advocates of the Montessori model! We’re proud to have successfully launched 4 public Montessori schools in Texas school districts, including two this year in El Paso ISD! Throughout our New School Design Fellowship in Texas, a part of Texas Education Agency's School Action Fund, our fellows participate in weekly coaching and ongoing professional development to build their capacity as instructional leaders on their campuses.? One Fellow's feedback truly captures the impact of our program: "SEN provides you with PD you never knew you needed. They get you to dig deep and have those hard discussions about the reality of education. I have grown as an administrator because of this lens that they have helped me create. ?? The Texas New School Design Fellowship (NSDF) team has successfully launched 38 innovative schools across Texas! This year, we’re thrilled to continue this impactful work with our six new fellows and welcome five new districts (Alief ISD, Del Valle ISD, EAST CENTRAL ISD, Ector County ISD and @Texarkana ISD) and one returning district (VICTORIA ISD). These experienced leaders will spend the year deeply immersed in research and design, crafting a School Design/Redesign Plan for a campus that will launch next school year to meet the unique needs of their communities thanks to the support of Texas Education Agency and the School Action Fund grant. While our fellows have already connected virtually through online professional development, they will meet in person for the first time this week at our Fall Convening in Houston, Texas. ?? Wow, Wow, Wow! Our recent NSDF graduate, Principal Veronica Delgado, and her amazing team at Crowley Montessori Academy just opened the doors to their brand facility! For their first two years, they were co-located and were already doing incredible things, but now they'll bring the Montessori vision to life in their own space! We couldn't be more happy for this team and so grateful to be a part of their journey. Congratulations, Crowley Independent School District; we can't wait to see the Monarchs soar!

One of the most powerful things about our Texas New School Design Fellowship (NSDF) is the weekly one-on-one coaching our fellows receive for three years.
