This week, the District celebrates the transformative power of the arts in education! From visual arts to musical theater, arts programs give students the opportunity to explore their passions, spark creativity, and reach their full potential. Special thanks to Palm Beach County voters for approving the 2022 Referendum, which continues to support art education in our schools.

Today, we honor Patriot Day and mark 23 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001. Today and every day, we remember the lives lost and recognize all who continue to be affected, including some of our very own Palm Beach Schools Police Department officers who served at the crash sites as first responders.

Students are encouraged to participate in the Florida Department of Education's Hispanic Heritage Month art and essay contests! All entries must be received by Friday, September 13, 2024. This year's theme is “Honoring Hispanic Contributions to Florida’s Success” so get creative and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. September is National Literacy Month! Literacy is not only the ability to read, but also to write, and effectively use language to communicate and understand information. With the help of local business partners and their PTO, Limestone Creek Elementary filled a hallway with fun, interactive activities designed to help students regulate themselves when they are experiencing difficult emotions. The new sensory wall activities provide visual, auditory, and tactile stimulation which helps calm and focus these young minds.

As the largest employer in Palm Beach County, we extend our sincerest gratitude this Labor Day to all PBCSD staff who have dedicated their lives to public education. Thank you for all you do!
