Scholars of Finance - Rutgers

This Monday served as the culmination of the 7 week long Recruitment Bootcamp for our chapter’s sophomores who presented their stock pitches in front of a panel of judges. Out of all the teams that presented, two will be taking their pitches to the National SoF Integrity Fund! We would like to congratulate everybody for their hard work and wish the team going to nationals good luck!

Last Monday we had the pleasure of hosting Cesar Sanchez at our speaker series event where we were able to gain some key insight into his work as a Vice President of Index Research at J.P. Morgan. We were able to touch on multiple points including index creation and Cesar’s path from RU industrial engineering to fixed income research. We really enjoyed hearing about Cesar’s experiences and we hope everyone who came was able to gain valuable insights. Thank you to everybody who came to the event and we hope to see you again!

This Monday we had the pleasure of hosting a panel with four industry leaders at Morgan Stanley. We want to give a huge shout out to Patrick Natale, Marrouwa Bouraee, Reggie Funderburk, and Mary Flaherty for coming out all the way to Rutgers to speak to us! We had a great time hearing about their unique career experiences at Morgan Stanley and different insights on the financial services industry. We hope that everybody was able to learn a lot from this panel and we can’t wait for the next one. Thank you to everyone who came out!

On April 4th, the Rutgers and Baruch Scholars of Finance Chapters held their inaugural Symposium at Deutsche Bank! At this Symposium, we discussed the broad impacts that Real Estate and Finance have on society and how we can help create a world where all current and future finance leaders steward the world's capital to serve the greater good. I want to thank the Symposium Planning Team for their tireless work these past 7 months and for making this event possible! Special thanks to Matthew Polo, Puja Mondal, Jessica Gupta, Christopher Petrus, and Jose Jacob Arce!
