The Santa Maria Creek?Greenway?will create new connections for the Ramona community! Envisioned as a multi-modal trail, the?greenway?will connect downtown Ramona to the Ramona Grasslands County Preserve and County trails beyond. In addition, the plan for the?greenway?includes walking and biking trails, amenity nodes, and creek overlook points to provide opportunities for trail users to connect with their surrounding natural environment and one another. Schmidt Design Group is working with Dudek and the County of San Diego to develop a feasibility and implementation plan for the?greenway, expanding on?efforts started by Ramona community members in the 1980's. Placing health and wellness at the forefront at MiraCosta College’s Oceanside campus! This new 27-acre ‘hub’ is the first of a series of transformative improvements planned for the Oceanside campus. The hub is comprised of three new buildings: a Gymnasium, Allied Health Building, and KHAN (Kinesiology, Health, and Nutrition) building. Each is organized around an intimate courtyard with its own entry to the central hub, a large outdoor plaza and event space. The site personifies the concept of wellness by creating an inclusive environment with a range of communal gathering spaces and a deep connection to nature featuring panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and mountains. We are heartbroken by the unimaginable devastation caused by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. We are grateful for all the hard work that has gone into developing the #ClimateActionPlan issued by the American Society of Landscape Architects. The bold vision for 2040 calls for all landscape architecture projects to “achieve zero embodied and operational emissions and increase carbon sequestration”.?We support the Climate Action Plan initiatives which highlight green infrastructure and other nature-based solutions such as parks, greenbelts, and biodiversity as critical tools for creating a climate resilient future. https://lnkd.in/g7rJv_BE
