Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. For strangers are risen up against me, And oppressors seek after my soul: They have not set God before them. Selah. Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good. For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: And mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies. He understood that the psalm had foreordained his birth and travail. And while holding that thought, he dug from his trunk the Collected Poems of Wallace Stevens, which, forthwith, he believed to be a record of resurrection or of experimental cloned simulation of the dead. Kudos to the author for being able to put this down on paper. A truly exhausting read! allowing the reader to know how debilitating and exhausting this disorder can be. There are bits of the book that relate to the fishing industry and these, respectfully, can be skipped by the reader who knows nothing of the industry. But to be taken on such a heady and in-depth journey through schizophrenia is truly remarkable.”
