Last week, our Scherer team had a fantastic time at the Builders Association of North Central Florida (BANCF) golf tournament! It was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors, have fun, and connect with fellow industry members from BANCF. Events like this provide a great opportunity to build relationships outside the office or jobsite on a more personal level. We’re grateful for all that BANCF does to support our industry, from advocating for governmental affairs to addressing construction codes and more.

Here’s how we’re constructing a tilt-wall stair tower: with pre-cast concrete, cranes, precise coordination, effective communication, and—of course—ideal weather! This exciting project marks the start of the new parking garage at Gainesville Regional Airport, an essential expansion to accommodate the increasing needs of our travelers. November has been an exciting month for concrete pours as we push multiple projects vertical, including the Tower Hill Insurance Group corporate headquarters. This latest pour involved 250 cubic yards for the slab on grade, marking the first third of the slab completed. For those who may not know, concrete pours typically start around midnight and finish as the sun rises. The process requires extensive coordination and communication, with over 30 team members on-site to ensure everything runs smoothly. This is what we love doing—bringing projects to life and watching them take shape. Our concrete crew kicked off the week with an early morning pour for the foundation of the new parking garage at Gainesville Regional Airport Soon, this project will begin to go vertical. The expansion for additional parking is essential to accommodate the growing needs of our airport. This is just one of five ongoing projects we’re working on at Gainesville Regional Airport.
