In an effort to serve the public more efficiently, the #SocialSecurityAdministration is expanding appointment-based services at local #SocialSecurity offices in #northwestohio and #southeastmichigan. They hope this change will reduce wait times, streamline service delivery, and improve the overall customer experience. Almost 400 field offices have already moved to appointment-based service this year, seeing significant improvements in wait times, better visitor experiences, and more customers completing business online. Effective January 6, 2025, #ssa will require customers to schedule an appointment for service in their local field office, including requests for Social Security cards. Customers are encouraged to become familiar with: 1. Online services, where many transactions can be completed conveniently and securely 2. Automated services available on the National 800# at 1-800-772-1213.
