Exciting news for Sceye as we take a major step forward in our European expansion! The groundbreaking of our new hangar and production facility at Aeropuerto de Teruel marks a significant milestone in advancing High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) for stratospheric flight.

This week marks a milestone for Sceye's European expansion with the groundbreaking of a hangar and production facility for High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) at Aeropuerto de Teruel in Spain. The new facility will make Teruel Airport the first site in Europe equipped to support HAPS for stratospheric flight at around 20 km (60,000 ft). Valued at €39.7 million, this is the largest investment to date by the Airport Consortium — reflecting its commitment to enhancing infrastructure, introducing new business lines, and driving innovation in the aerospace sector. We're proud to announce the successful completion of our Flag Expedition with The Explorers Club, where we carried Flag #210 on the first-ever full diurnal flight in the stratosphere while staying over an area of operation for more than 24 hours. Sceye is creating a new layer of non-terrestrial infrastructure between drones and satellites. In a recent conversation with KOB 4, our CEO, Mikkel Vestergaard Frandsen, discussed how Sceye’s revolutionary tech enables our High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) to stay over an area of operation in the stratosphere for extended periods of time. This ability offers a unique vantage point for detecting climate disasters, like wildfires and methane leaks, in real time and taking the search out of search-and-rescue for maritime services. Last week, Sceye participated in The Global Forum on Connecting the World from the Skies, hosted in Riyadh by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) of Saudi Arabia. Our CEO, Mikkel Frandsen, joined the panel discussion, “Communication on the Edge of Space,” to explore how HAPS (High-Altitude Platform Systems) and near-space technologies are unlocking new possibilities for global connectivity. The session highlighted the continued evolution of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs) and the key role of HAPS in complementing satellites and terrestrial towers, providing enhanced coverage and performance. It was an engaging discussion on the future of unmanned stratospheric systems, addressing their development, emerging markets, challenges, and transformative potential.?
