  • Update. Be advised the emergency no-wake zone order established by SCDNR and the U.S. Coast Guard on all waters of the Intracoastal Waterway from Fantasy Harbor Bridge to Bucksport Marina, including Rosewood and Lawson’s landings, has been extended until Aug. 30. Local, state and federal patrols will continue to ensure compliance. The rule was put in place on Aug. 16 and will be enforced until Aug. 30, or until waters recede, allowing for safe navigation. State and federal authorities determined this emergency order is necessary to protect people, homes, boats, and the marine environment while the Waccamaw River and Little Pee Dee River experience high water from Tropical Storm Debby.

Boyles has served as SCDNR director since May 2019. “Serving as SCDNR director has been the honor of my professional life, and I recognize that any success I have enjoyed is the result of the passion, vision and commitment that our staff and our partners bring to the realm of natural resources stewardship every day,” Boyles said. “I’d like to offer my profound thanks to Gov. McMaster, the SCDNR Board, the members of the S.C. General Assembly, and our conservation partners throughout South Carolina for their devotion to natural resources conservation throughout our wonderful state.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eZei6b-k

  • SCDNR and the U.S. Coast Guard are implementing an emergency no-wake zone on all waters of the Intracoastal Waterway from Fantasy Harbor Bridge to Bucksport Marina, including Rosewood and Lawson’s landings. This is effective immediately. Temporary no-wake zone buoys are anticipated to be in place this afternoon, along with joint local, state and federal patrols to ensure compliance. The rule is in place from Aug. 16 through Aug. 23, or until waters recede, allowing for safe navigation. State and federal authorities determined this emergency order is necessary to protect people, homes, boats, and the marine environment while the Waccamaw River and Little Pee Dee River experience high water from Tropical Storm Debby.
