  • Q: “What are your views on workplace accountability?” In Today’s “Ask the Coach” Column, Jathan Janove breaks down workplace accountability into three categories: hierarchical, peer, and self-accountability. He explains how traditional workplace practices often rely on hierarchical models that use fear of consequences as a motivator. However, the real magic happens when organizations foster self-accountability – a culture where employees feel empowered and take personal ownership of their contributions to collective success. Curious about how to transition from fear-based accountability to a purpose-driven model? Read the full column here: https://lnkd.in/eJ256mrT

  • Stakeholder Centered Coaching? (SCC) is a results-driven methodology that empowers leaders to achieve measurable and lasting change by engaging their stakeholders throughout the journey. Here are the four principles that make SCC so effective: 1???Active Stakeholder Involvement: SCC places stakeholders at the heart of the coaching process. By gathering input from team members, peers, and managers who interact directly with the leader, SCC ensures that development aligns with organizational goals and team expectations. 2???Focus on Measurable Behavior Change: Sustained success comes from measurable progress. SCC sets clear, actionable goals and uses ongoing feedback to help leaders track their growth. This commitment to tangible results makes change visible and impactful. 3???Shared Accountability: Accountability is key to meaningful growth. In SCC, everyone—leaders, coaches, and stakeholders—shares responsibility for the leader’s success. Regular progress reviews ensure consistent commitment and measurable outcomes. 4???Forward-Focused FeedForward Unlike traditional feedback, SCC emphasizes “FeedForward.” Stakeholders share forward-looking suggestions to help leaders focus on future improvements rather than dwelling on past mistakes. This approach inspires optimism and sustained motivation. How do you ensure accountability and measurable results in your leadership journey? We’d love to hear your thoughts! Share your insights, challenges, or questions in the comments below. To learn more about Stakeholder Centered Coaching?, visit https://lnkd.in/eRDCq8B5

  • Ethics are a foundational pillar in executive leadership coaching, where trust and integrity are not just values—they’re prerequisites for success. Here’s why ethics are indispensable in coaching and how they shape impactful coaching relationships: Building Trust: Trust is the bedrock of any coaching relationship, and ethical conduct is what makes it possible. Without ethical standards, trust can't flourish, and without trust, coaching cannot deliver lasting impact. Integrity Above All: In the words of Marshall Goldsmith, “Integrity is non-negotiable.” If a leader compromises integrity, they shouldn’t be coached—they should be held accountable. Integrity violations are not coaching opportunities; they are grounds for termination, emphasizing that ethical behavior is a condition of employment, not a development target. Clear Ethical Guidelines: Organizations must set clear ethical guidelines, ensuring leaders understand and adhere to these standards from the start. Ethical clarity supports not only accountability but also reinforces a healthy coaching environment where growth aligns with organizational values. Behavioral Focus: Coaching is a powerful tool for promoting positive behavioral change, but it cannot correct ethical misconduct. When integrity or ethics are at stake, direct action is necessary; coaching is most effective when focusing on behavioral improvement, not ethical remediation. Selective Client Engagement: Working with clients who uphold ethical standards and are open to accountability is essential. Coaching those who lack integrity undermines the purpose of coaching, which is to facilitate meaningful growth and foster trust-based relationships. Ethics are intrinsic to the coaching process. They ensure a trustworthy environment where both coach and client commit to positive, ethical outcomes. As Marshall rightly points out, integrity in coaching is non-negotiable; it is the foundation upon which transformative, sustainable change is built.
