When Hurricane Helene impacted the mountain regions of North Carolina, our team members Jeremy and Jared went above and beyond to offer support. At dawn, they set off with supplies donated by SteelCo and its employees—water, food, tarps, gas cans, and more—that had been collected in our office’s back stairwell. These donations were delivered to local organizations like The Sharing Place and Waynesville United Methodist Church, which were on the front lines of the relief efforts. Witnessing the resilience of these communities and the dedication of volunteers was truly humbling. We are proud to have played a small part in these efforts and deeply grateful to everyone who contributed supplies and more. Meet Hunter Knox, a vital part of SteelCo Construction. Since joining in May 2024 as a Project Manager, Hunter has excelled in estimating and bidding on multiple projects. He also assists in project management for PEC, SKC repairs, and the Covington Academy project. Soon, he will lead his first project for Church at the Grove. Hunter’s approach to customer service is rooted in a deep understanding of each project. He goes beyond estimating costs to ensure practical field applications and finds cost-effective solutions that benefit clients. Hunter's foray into the industry all started with his studies in Construction Management at Georgia Southern University. Hunter then began interning at Evans General Contractors where he was hired full-time upon graduation as an Assistant Project Manager. Hunter gained experience and successfully helped complete commercial projects in Atlanta, Mississippi, and Denver, CO. In 2021, he developed insights and expertise on the residential construction side but pivoted back to commercial recently to join the SteelCo team. Outside of work, Hunter is a die-hard football fan, cheering for Georgia Football and the Atlanta Falcons. He’s a Covington native and engaged to his fiancée, Holly, with a wedding planned for February. Thank you, Hunter, for being a valuable part of the SteelCo team.
