Trans-Atlantic air cargo demand is spiking as European exporters rush to get their product into the U.S. before new tariffs go into effect in April. Experts don't expect this demand to last long-term, but it is a nice jolt for the air cargo market for the time being. The port would use its smaller terminal to allow ships to park ahead of unloading at the main port. This comes in the wake of a major backlog at the port following a winter storm in January. Just days after announcing tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada, President Trump has once again paused tariffs on most of these goods for an additional month. All goods from Mexico and Canada that are eligible for USMCA treatment are now exempt from additional tariffs until April 2.
