Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, and colonoscopy screenings are critical for early detection. In 2024, our gastrointestinal facilities performed over 300,000 colonoscopies. We remain committed to providing these services and advancing preventive care. Gastroenterologist Dr. Joseph Bruno, explains why colonoscopies are so important ??

New York State Senator Gustavo Rivera recently visited our Mid-Bronx Endoscopy Center to meet with our physicians and teammates to celebrate the great work they do! Serving primarily Medicaid patients, the center provides access to GI care for 7,000 patients annually, ensuring high-quality, accessible care to underserved members of the community. We’re proud to support our teammates and their commitment to delivering exceptional care!??

Last week, our teammates wore blue in support of raising awareness for colorectal cancer, one of the most preventable cancers. With GI as a core specialty, we’re grateful for our teammates who joined in and continue to advocate for prevention and early detection!

Congratulations to Mansfield Endoscopy Center on recently completing their first-ever EndoFLIP and MiVu studies! ?? Conducted during an EGD, which examines the upper GI tract, these tests offer valuable insights into esophageal motility, pressure and dimension. By utilizing these advanced tools, we can provide effective and less invasive GI care for the patients we serve. Kudos to all the teammates who helped bring this innovative offering so that we can better support our patients’ GI health!

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Week, a time dedicated to raising awareness about colorectal cancer. Most cases of colon and rectal cancer are preventable with regular recommended screenings.
