From Cola to D.C.! ?????? This week, CRPH Director Dr. Kevin Bennett and Director of Connecting Communities Dr. Megan Weis, DrPH, MPH, MCHES, attended the National Rural Health Association’s Rural Health Policy Institute. Some notable highlights from the week: ? ???Dr. Bennett was honored for his term as 2024 NRHA President. ?? Dr. Weis graduated from the NRHA Rural Health Fellows program. ?? Students from the School of Medicine’s Rural Interest Group joined in on the action. ?? Dr. Weis and fellow rural health advocates took to Capitol Hill to meet with representatives. ? It was inspiring to see so many passionate voices advocating for rural health!

Last week, CRPH Program Manager Andrea Mitchell, MPH, attended the HBCU Health Discovery Program Student Health Ambassador Event, celebrating the efforts of student health ambassadors from Claflin University, Voorhees University, South Carolina State University, and Clinton College. Through our HBCU Health Discovery Program, these students are driving health access on their campuses and in their communities while developing as future healthcare leaders. They shared their impactful work at the event, highlighting how their efforts extend beyond campus to create lasting change. We are proud of their dedication and the difference they continue to make!
