Established in 1977 as a non-partisan, official Senate staff organization that strives to build a sense of community and support among African-American Senate staffers. Today is World Mental Health Day - a day to come together to learn more about mental health and advocate against the stigma surrounding mental health. SBLSC is committed to ensuring that all of our members feel supported and have access to the resources they need to take care of their mental health. We're highlighting Senate specific resources as well as several non-profit organizations that provide accessible life-saving support to those in need. Never forget you are not alone ??

Last weekend, Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus (SBLSC) & Congressional Black Associates assisted local artist Luther Wright with painting a mural for the NoMa in Color Mural Festival! Thank you to our members for showing up, painting, getting sweaty, and beautifying the NoMa area! We truly appreciate your support and effort for this community service event.

Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus (SBLSC) & Congressional Black Associates (CBA) will be assisting with painting a mural for the NoMa in Color Mural Festival this Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st! The festival will feature live music, hands-on art stations, dance and roller skating performances, and vendors for food. This past week, SBLSC members joined thousands of leaders, activists, and scholars for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 53rd Annual Legislative Conference! It was a jam-packed week of community, education, and Black excellence. We would like to thank our wonderful alumni board member Anthony M. Mitchell and our partners at The Home Depot Government Affairs Team for hosting SBLSC at the Celebration of Black Congressional Staff event this past Tuesday, where we heard remarks from several Congressional Black Caucus members, including Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11), Congressman James Clyburn (SC-6), Congresswoman Cori Bush (MO-1), Congressman Jonathan Jackson (IL-1), and Congresswoman Lucy McBath (GA-7). ?
