Through professional training for start-up/growth ventures and our no-cost confidential business consulting service, will help develop and refine business plans, solve problems, find sources of capital and develop strategies to support growth and profitability.

    ?Job Opportunity: Business Start-Up Specialist Consultant The Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in the Baltimore region is currently seeking a Business Start-Up Specialist Consultant for a 6-month contract position. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work closely with entrepreneurs and small business owners in our community to provide expert guidance and support in launching their ventures. Responsibilities: ? Provide one-on-one consulting to entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Baltimore region, focusing on start-up planning and strategy. ? Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and develop customized action plans to help them achieve their business goals. ? Offer guidance on business plan development, market research, financial projections, and other aspects of starting a business. ? Deliver workshops and training sessions on topics relevant to business start-ups, as needed. ? Assisting with intern scheduling ? Collaborate with other SBDC staff and external partners to enhance the delivery of services to clients. Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field. ? Previous experience working with start-ups or small businesses, either as an entrepreneur, consultant, or in a relevant role. ? Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including business planning, marketing, finance, and operations. ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients. ? Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. ? Familiarity with the Maryland business ecosystem and resources available to entrepreneurs is a plus.   • Economic Assistance to Small Businesses Affected by the Key Bridge Collapse Mid-Atlantic small businesses affected by the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse on March 26, 2024 may apply for low-interest, long-term Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
