In a significant about-face, the U.S. Department of the Treasury suspended enforcement of the reporting requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act and announced its intent to limit the rule going forward to only foreign companies. This is a significant and definitive development in what has been a roller-coaster few months of court decisions and reversals that kept businesses guessing as to whether they would have to comply with the CTA reporting requirements.
