Delaware has enacted the Healthy Delaware Families Act, which requires job-protected, paid family and medical leave for Delaware employees. What do employers need to know? ? All eligible employers in Delaware must declare their intentions for the Paid Family Leave (PFL) program by December 1. ? Employers need to decide whether to provide a private plan instead of contributing to the state fund.? ? If employers do not file an exemption with LaborFirst by December 1, 2024, they will begin paying premiums to the state starting January 1, 2025, despite benefits not being available until January 1, 2026.
