After 15 years of dedicated leadership, Daniela Ibarra-Howell is transitioning from her role as CEO of the Savory Institute to focus full-time on our newest entity, the Savory Foundation. Stepping into the role of CEO is Jason Knoll, a longtime advisor, board member, and steadfast champion of #HolisticManagement. Since co-founding the Savory Institute, Daniela has established and grown the Savory Global Network across six continents, expanded Holistic Management training to tens of thousands of land managers managing over 100 million acres, and launched Land to Market—the world’s first regenerative sourcing solution for food and fiber. She has played a critical role in advancing Savory’s mission while shaping #regenerativeagriculture into the global movement that it is today. In her new role at the Savory Foundation, Daniela will focus on strengthening Savory’s portfolio of large-scale grassland regeneration projects, unlocking mission-aligned funding and investment that will enable the transition to regenerative land management on a global scale. “This is not a farewell—it is a deepening of my commitment ,” she shared. “By moving into this role full-time, I will be working to connect the dots between regenerative land management, climate finance, and large-scale funding opportunities, making sure that our community has the resources needed to expand and thrive.” Jason brings years of strategic leadership and a deep personal connection to the land and the regenerative movement. His journey with Savory began in 2015, and since then, he has worked closely with Daniela and the leadership team to refine strategy, engage with Hubs across the world, and advance Savory’s mission. This transition is not just about leadership—it is about strengthening Savory’s ability to scale impact, deepen collaboration, and carry forward the principles and framework that Allan Savory first set in motion decades ago. We are grateful for Daniela’s years of service, and we welcome Jason as he takes the helm to lead Savory into its next chapter. ?? Read Daniela’s full message here: https://lnkd.in/gmnQciHA ?? 501(c)(3) regenerating the world's grasslands by training farmers, & connecting brands with verified regenerative supply
关于我们
Savory Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Boulder, Colorado with 50+ regional learning Hubs around the globe. Founded in 2009, the Institute has trained over 29,000 farmers, ranchers, and pastoralists and influenced management of over 32 Million hectares of grasslands through the adoption of Holistic Planned Grazing – a process that mimics ancestral grazing patterns of wild herbivores that co-evolved with healthy grassland ecosystems. Developed by Allan Savory in the 1960’s, Holistic Management (HM) has been proven in a wide variety of contexts to regenerate grasslands, build soil, increase biodiversity, and sequester significant amounts of carbon while also improving social and economic outcomes. The Savory Global Network is comprised of regionally-based Savory Hubs (learning centers), Accredited Professionals (field educators), and Regenerating Members (recurring monthly donors) which together are our scale-up mechanism for increasing adoption. Savory Hubs are all locally owned and locally operated training centers that, through Accredited Professionals, provide HM training, resources, and implementation support to local farmers and ranchers. With an intimate knowledge of local culture, economy, policies, and environment, Hubs are able to mentor producers and help them implement these regenerative management practices in a contextually-specific manner that is relevant to their region. The Savory Global Network currently operates across six continents. Since 2009, we have achieved the following impact: ? 50+ Global Hubs ? 29,000+ farmers/ranchers/pastoralists trained ? 32+ million hectares of land holistically managed Savory’s goal is to regenerate global grasslands and make a significant dent in carbon drawdown before it is too late. Through a growing global network, this goal is not just achievable, but necessary to create a livable planet for many generations to come.

Heartfelt congratulations Daniela Ibarra-Howell on years of sound leadership, and good wishes for an even more fruitful future in the Savory Foundation as you follow your passion.?The world owes you a debt of gratitude for taking the Savory Institute’s vital purpose “To expand the Holistic Management Framework into global consciousness with urgency as all life depends on it.” as broadly as you have. Gradually society will come to realize that, without agriculture there cannot be a choir, university, church, army, city or any business. That agriculture is not, as Nobel Laureate economists believe, a percentage of GDP in each nation.?It is the foundation of civilization.?Today agriculture and global finance, due entirely to the way in which governments develop policies (on which laws, regulations, trade and taxation are based) are driving environmental destruction.? The world’s major powers posture for war expanding their arms industries and destructive capabilities, and billionaires invest in dreams of space exploration, mining minerals on the moon or colonizing Mars.?Meanwhile at home on this our only livable planet, we face exponentially expanding global biodiversity loss, desertification and mega-fires fueling climate change feeding on each other.?When, in 1980, I came to America as a political exile, I said I could not understand ?American fear of the USSR when the USDA was a far greater threat. Now, the threat is global and far greater than any, and every, war ever fought.?Never has there been a greater need for team humanity to unite and, as the old saying goes, turn our swords into plough shears. Never have we needed statesmen more than political leaders. Never bef

For anyone wondering what we’ve been up to behind the scenes…
Building on more than a decade of impactful work driving grasslands regeneration around the globe, the Savory Institute quietly launched a foundation in 2022 to address the need for large-scale capital to fund regeneration at scale. The Savory Foundation is filling a critical gap in the space: the need for a strategic vehicle designed to attract and structure significant funding into regenerative livestock agriculture at scale. Today, the foundation is working on its first investable project in Uruguay – a project that offers great potential for holistic ecosystem and community regeneration, as well as opportunity for impact and natural capital investors. ?? Podcast tip ! ?? Livestock is not the problem, but part of the solution. ?? In drylands, there's an enormous difference between effective rainfall and ineffective rainfall. ?? Grasses and herbivores co-evolved in grasslands. You cannot remove one or the other without causing damage. Most importantly: land degradation is a MANAGEMENT problem, not a technical or climatic issue. Thus, ecosystem restoration is also a MANAGEMENT challenge. Each time I listen to Allan Savory, new fundamental insights come up. If you're into ecosystem restoration and specifically dryland restoration, this is a great episode of the Real Organic Project. https://lnkd.in/eM7KEEQk
