?? Foodsi raises €1.2 million in a Seed round extension, bringing the total investment in the Company to €2.6 million. First and foremost, I want to sincerely congratulate the entire Foodsi team. I truly appreciate how you take full ownership of your tasks, how you grow, and how I can rely on you. This really impresses me, and I think I'm not the only one. I would also like to thank our external advisors from top startups and companies, as well as all of our collaborators, agencies, and good ambassadors. A special shoutout to AIP Seed, SATUS Starter VC (24Ventures), and a few angel investors who are supporting us on this journey. Nearly 2 million users of the app can see that we put our whole heart into this. They appreciate what we do. We have saved over 5 million food packages, valued at more than 50 million PLN. And of course, we have a top rating of nearly 5 stars with around 25,000 reviews on Google Play and the App Store. We have saved TONS of food and other products from going to waste. This is true impact. Did I plan for such development? And some funny “seed extension”? Definitely not. The trajectory was ambitiously focused on top growth and expansion. Then Series A and let’s go! The market has been ____ (insert your thoughts here). I’ll say diplomatically: unique. In such a promising market as Poland, there shouldn't be such a huge gap in funding for technology and innovation. We are losing potential and discouraging foreign investors. Someone will tell me that money will be found for the best. I completely agree. However, there are startups, and in fact, people who need much more time to achieve product-market fit for their innovations. Many of them have exited the market. Markets where $20 million pre-revenue for Figma came after 5 years of work without revenue are, of course, an extremely wonderful example (now about $700 million ARR). If we want to aspire to the best, if we want to build great things, we must spend money and not let situations arise where top founders do not have access to cash. Cash needs to step aboard the train of innovation to drive progress. In the past year, we said goodbye to some team members, whom I sincerely miss to this day. We managed to maintain growth, execute our plans, enhance our product with new functionalities, and have returned to hiring more top specialists, while getting closer to profitability and, most importantly, learning a valuable business lesson. And much more. All of this is thanks to the incredible work of the people who create Foodsi. Once again, thank you! Today we can definitely celebrate ??, but I share these thoughts because I want people to see it from different perspectives. - To VCs, to let you know that we must all work together for the market to grow. - To journalists, to appreciate startups regardless of their size, as we need to develop talent for creating and working in startups. - And to my dear fellow founders, to support and appreciate each other.
