Satterfield & Pontikes Construction (S&P) is honored to serve as the general contractor for The Gessner Center, the future headquarters of the Galveston Bay Foundation. This 14,000-square-foot facility is designed to meet the rigorous standards of the Living Building Challenge—one of the world’s most ambitious performance-based sustainability certifications. The Gessner Center will be a landmark project in both purpose and design. Located on a 30-acre site in Kemah, Texas, the facility will include indoor and outdoor classrooms, community gathering spaces, a living shoreline, boardwalks, and direct access to Galveston Bay’s unique ecosystem. It will serve as a hub for environmental education, conservation, and community connection. S&P is grateful to be part of a project that not only embodies our focus on sustainability and innovation, but also supports the Galveston Bay Foundation’s mission to preserve and enhance one of Texas’s most important natural resources. We’re making great progress at Dallas Love Field! Our team has completed major underground utilities and grade beams, and work has now begun on the new access road to the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) facility. You can spot the ARFF building in the background of this site-wide view. Next month, the project will go vertical—an exciting milestone as we continue transforming this space.
