The Leading CEO Member Organization Dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility

关于我们

From values to action. We facilitate high impact, philanthropic Corporate Social Responsibility through a two-tiered approach—a Think Tank, centered around research and education, and a Do Tank, focused on encouraging, supporting, and empowering business leaders to improve their communities. Our Think Tank employs the expertise of leading academic scholars at institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, Cornell, and Stanford, as well as Erasmus University, Hertie School of Governance, and the University of Basel. Their research and recommendations—published in the form of white papers, journal articles, and experimental studies—are the information platform for our work. By proving the impact of long-term giving, our Do Tank has created a diverse collective force of corporate-nonprofit partnerships, lengthening the trajectories of valuable nonprofit programs and initiatives. Since the Satell Institute began in 2016, our corporate members have collectively dedicated millions of dollars to nonprofits in the Philadelphia region and beyond. Our mission is to increase the number of companies committed to long-term investments in nonprofits. In addition to improving communities, we believe these partnerships benefit the for-profit and nonprofit partners involved on multiple levels: ? Long-term commitment. To become a member, businesses must make a four-year financial commitment of at least $25,000 annually to a nonprofit partner of their choice. ? Free membership. There is no fee for corporate members. All corporate contributions go directly to the chosen nonprofit partners. ? Freedom to choose one’s cause. Whether the focus is on supporting good healthcare, education, culture, research, or social needs, we invite our members to select the cause(s) that align with their business goals. ? Relationship-building opportunities. CEO-to-CEO communication is our hallmark. We achieve this through private conferences, unique CEO idea exchanges, and more.

This morning, Archer & Greiner, P.C. welcomed The Satell Institute and an exclusive group of 60, hand-selected, CEOs/ top executives from some of South Jersey’s most influential employers, visionary nonprofits, and catalytic foundations. While everyone in the room was already a staunch supporter of “community,” the question posed was: "How can we break out of our silos and align our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to drive greater, more coordinated impact?" Participants got together and shared strategies, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged in meaningful dialog around this topic. Afterwards, Satell member, Anthony Mongeluzo set the tone by sharing the defining moments and individuals that shaped his deep commitment to community, igniting a conversation about how businesses can better prepare their employees for meaningful Board leadership (and the responsibilities that come with it)! The discussion went further, exploring innovative ways to meet employees where they are.?Providing a few ideas on how to personalize giving and volunteer opportunities to increase employee engagement and community impact. I wanted to personaly thank Marc Rollo and Archer Grenier for what was the start of a powerful movement to shape the future of South Jersey’s communities. If you weren’t in the room today, you’ll want to be in the next one ?? Thanks to the record crowd who were part of this morning's amazing Satell Institute Nonprofit Leadership Summit at the The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and PNC Park in Pittsburgh. What an extraordinary morning! What a tribute to the work of nonprofits! SI is so proud to be able to convene so many leaders and funders for these important and inspiring conversations. Conference chair Tim McDermott of the Philadelphia Union kicked things off by talking about impact — and sharing the amazing story of Jacques Mason, a young Chester resident whose life has been transformed by the Philadelphia Union Foundation's successful efforts to bring soccer back to Chester High School. Jacques is now a member of the Union's Academy team and on track to attend college, a single but powerful example of what's possible when organizations make real commitments to the community. Sheila Ireland of OIC Philadelphia spoke persuasively about the need for trust among nonprofit organizations, funders and communities. "Trust is the currency of social good. When nonprofits and corporations trust — through data-driven storytelling and impact measurement — they don't just prove their effectiveness. They inspire action, drive investment, and create lasting change." Keynote speaker Michael Thatcher, CEO of Charity Navigator, highlighted the morning in conversation with SI's vice chair, Tony Conti. Michael offered deeply personal and thoughtful remarks about the work of Charity Navigator as it deepens its partnership with the nonprofit community — as well as the challenges faced by nonprofits in these tumultuous times. We're so grateful for his presence this morning. The Summit concluded with SI's hallmark peer-sharing roundtables, which give nonprofit executives and business leaders the chance to dive deep and learn from each other. A special thank you to our organizing committee for this event, as well as SI's founder and chair, Ed Satell, whose inspiring words about the power of free enterprise and the work of nonprofits set the tone for the Summit. "Nonprofits are the heroes of our society," Ed said. The morning was proof of that.

The Foxwynd Foundation attended the Satell Institute CEO Conference at the United Nations, NYC. It was truly inspiring to be surrounded by some of New York City’s top CEOs, global leaders, and changemakers, with thoughtful conversations on corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, and global impact. One of the highlights of the day was capturing a moment with the Ambassador of Morocco and the Permanent Observer of the Sovereign Order of Malta—an unforgettable experience at the heart of global diplomacy. Key Takeaways from the Conference: ? Corporate social responsibility is not just about philanthropy, but about accountability. Businesses have a role in shaping communities, not just supporting them. ? “It’s important that we are who we need to be for a community to succeed.” A reminder that leadership is about showing up in meaningful ways. ? “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.” An eye-opening perspective on the importance of advocacy and engagement. Some Surprising Insights: ? In individual giving, we often assume the U.S. leads—yet the top country is Indonesia, followed by Kenya. ? In government giving, the U.S. ranks sixth, far behind expectations. ? The Sovereign Order of Malta is unique in that its citizens are those without a state, built entirely on humanitarianism. ? The United Nations is currently addressing 56 ongoing conflicts worldwide—reinforcing the urgency of global collaboration. ? “Values drive what we do.” This resonated deeply, as it’s the foundation of impactful leadership and meaningful change. The conference was followed by a very special lunch in the Delegates’ Dining Room—a rare and unique opportunity, as only official delegates are typically allowed to dine there. It was an honor to experience this exclusive space and continue engaging in meaningful conversations. #UN #SatellCEOConference #FoxwyndFoundation #CorporateSocialResponsibiilty ##GlobalImpact #Leadership #Diplomacy #Legacy

  • After serving more than 25 years in prison for a murder he was wrongfully accused of, Tyree Wallace is now free and doing something extraordinary: using his own nonprofit, The Systemic Reformative Change Organization, to help underserved communities. By his side are some members of the business community who are determined to help him and his organization make a difference. An inspirational story — and an amazing example of #CSR in action.
