As we wrap up our first month of the Spring 2025 Semester, we hope to take a moment to reflect on the new beginnings of our academic journey and the cultural traditions we cherish. The start of the semester has been filled with exciting courses and new opportunities. We loved the bond we were able to create and strengthen with our peers through the first-month events. Additionally, this month marks Lunar New Year, a time of family, reflection, and prosperity celebrated by millions around the world. As we welcome the Year of the Snake, let’s embrace the spirit of wisdom, resilience, and ambition—qualities that resonate deeply with our SASE community. Beyond that, please stay tuned for upcoming networking opportunities, leadership development events, and more throughout the semester. As we move forward, let’s uplift each other and make this semester one of growth, community, and success!

From November 4th to 10th, we celebrated SASE Spirit Week, an occasion to recognize the three pillars of SASE: professional development, cultural diversity, and community service. Our chapter embraced the opportunity to connect, grow, and celebrate with our members through a variety of engaging events! Throughout the week, we hosted activities that aligned with SASE’s mission, such as an Instagram takeover by Venkat Cherukupalli to talk about professionalism and his connection with SASE, and engaged in cultural awareness discussions, creating spaces for members to learn, share, and grow. We dressed in our favorite SASE merchandise and took a group photo together to share with our sister chapter at Baylor University.?Later, we hosted a cupcake-decorating event, bringing members together to channel their creativity and enjoy sweet treats while bonding over shared experiences. We also gave back to the community by volunteering at the Commons Dining Hall, serving Asian food to students and introducing the Asian culture to everyone that came. Another highlight of the week was our annual Shokugeki No SASE event, an exciting cooking competition where mentor families came together to showcase their culinary skills, teamwork, and friendly competition! Some dishes included miso noodles, potstickers, har cheong gai, and sundubu-jjigae??. The energy and enthusiasm during Spirit Week reflected the strength of our community and our commitment to SASE's vision. It was a meaningful week filled with connection, growth, and celebration, leaving members feeling inspired and more connected to the SASE mission. We’re proud to have been part of such an incredible tradition and look forward to continuing this momentum throughout the year!??

On October 10th, 2024, the SASE Rensselaer Chapter traveled to Boston, MA, to attend the 2024 SASE National Conference. Our members had an incredible time engaging in personal and professional development activities through creative crafts, workshops, and the career fair. A highlight of the experience was networking with other SASE chapters, especially connecting with our sister chapter from Baylor University! This amazing opportunity would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, and we greatly appreciate their donations and encouragement. We are also thankful to everyone who contributed to the planning and logistics, ensuring a smooth and successful experience for all attendees. #SASENC2024 #SASE #RPI #BaylorUniversity
