Seven years ago, we began an incredible journey of planning and design for Greenwood Community Park and BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo. Now, we are thrilled to announce the grand opening of Phase 1 this Saturday, October 5th, 2024! Partnering with BREC, the city, and the community, we’re proud to have brought this space to life—guided by the vision of over 5,000 community inputs. This park is a testament to collective imagination and features key attractions like: ?? A scenic bayou promenade ?? A Louisiana-themed adventure playground (complete with giant black bear sculptures!) ?? A revitalized zoo Beyond its beauty, the park is designed to lower the 100-year flood elevation, expand the tree canopy by 200%, and restore ecological health. Now, we invite everyone to join us for a day of fun and celebration. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this dream a reality. Let’s celebrate this milestone together! ?? Shaping Campus Experiences Through Sport Facility Design ?? When working with academic institutions on the design of athletics, recreation and wellness facilities, we are often faced with the challenge of knitting large spaces into sensitive campus contexts. Through creative organization of building programs, contextually-responsive massing and material selection, and thoughtful landscape interventions, we are able to meet the dimensional requirements of these spaces while also reducing their perceived scale and impact on campus. For Deerfield Academy, we addressed a complex series of site constraints by stacking the program on three levels to take advantage of the topography and maximize views to the hills. The building form and material choices draw from the vernacular architecture of the surrounding historic village. At Middlebury College, the competition level of the field house sits eight feet below grade which mitigates the scale of the large volume facing the campus core while also allowing pedestrian level views into the venue from an exterior campus walk. The Racquet Center at Princeton University, which is nearing construction completion, inserts a sensitively-scaled bar of the program in front of a larger competition volume to create a gradual transition from the campus to the project’s indoor and outdoor competition venues. #SasakiDesign #SportsFacilityDesign #AthleticsAndWellness #CampusDesign #SustainableDesign

Feast your eyes on this recent office transformation. Seeking to relocate their growing high-energy team, Toast came to Sasaki to design their future office headquarters. Sasaki's interior design team transformed the subleased existing office space into an environment that features a variety of flexible work areas, meeting rooms, and a café that showcase the Toast brand and support their teams. The new 125,000 sf space creates destinations to promote movement, activity, and community across the seven floors. To make the space uniquely Toast and celebrate their brand, Sasaki’s environmental graphic designers developed graphic interventions tailored to intended uses of different spaces.
